Love
John 15:12-17: "My command is
this: Love each other as I have
loved you" (v. 12)
Thank you, Lord, for your written word
that tells of your everlasting love for us.
Help us to communicate your love to
others.
A Cup of Water
Mark 9:33-41: "I tell you the
truth, anyone who gives you a
cup of water in my name because
you belong to Christ will certainly
not lose his reward" (v. 41)
Grant a special blessing, Lord, on those
who give comfort to people whose lives
are measured in days and hours.
God's Temple
1 Cor. 3:16-17: "Don't you know
that yourselves are God's temple
and that God's spirit lives in you?
If anyone destroys God's temple,
God will destroy him; for God's
temple is sacred, and you are
that temple."
It is an awesome thought, Lord that
our body is your temple. Help us to
keep it fit for your dwelling.
Hope
Prov. 15:30 "A cheerful look
brings joy to the heart, and good
news gives health to the bones."
Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to
give good news to others. Help us to
bring hope with a cheerful countenance
when the news is less good.

The Push
Recently, Father Jerry spoke of how he and Father Chuck Owens each had encounters with the Rev. Billy Graham. It made me recall how on one Saturday night I watched Mr. Graham on TV and in closing he said for us to go to church on Sunday morning. If we did not have a church, he implored us to find one.
As always the beautiful hymn "Just As I Am" was played, and I wept thinking of how negligent I had become about going to church every Sunday.
The next morning, I went to church, and I have been going every Sunday morning since, unless sickness or some other very good reason kept me from it. I think a great deal of the Rev. Billy Graham and thank him for giving me "the push" I needed to become more faithful to my church.

If you are serving in the background while others are out front getting the credit, don't despair. Study Paul's situation, and you'll find yourself in good company: that of a selfless saint committed to serving above all else.
Read Philippians 1:12-18—Arrested for spreading the gospel and thrown into prison, other preachers capitalized on Paul's circumstances to make a name for themselves, among the churches. But Paul didn't care as long as the Gospel was getting out.
The voice of humility is God's music, and the silence of humility is God's rhetoric.
